Arrive Home in a Snow Storm and in Style ?.Priceless
I realize that with all the bad press from Toyota in our headlines lately, that it might be nice to get some good news regarding one of the Toyota/Lexus products.
I am Buffy Loveday, and owner of a new 2010 IS250C. This is my 3rd Lexus vehicle and I couldn't be happier. I want to tell you a story about this amazing car and the service I have received from Lexus.
On Friday, January 29th the south was bracing for a snow storm. I live in Chattanooga, TN often travel to my corporate office in Nashville, TN. This is where I found myself on Jan. 29th 10am cst as the snow began to come down quickly. My daughter attends college in Cookeville, TN and with the weather I feared for her driving home, so I had planned to pick her up on my way home. During my travel to Cookeville I witnessed 2 accidents due to the snow and slick driving conditions. By the time I arrived into Cookeville (approx 75 miles NE of Nashville) it appeared only to be raining. I waited for my daughter to finish up class and we departed for home approx. 2.30pm est. Now the only way home from Cookeville has us travel over a couple very dangerous and rural mountain roads. Not 30 minutes into our drive things became dangerous very fast. We traveled very slowly and the snow continued to come down. I traveled approx 25 miles and called my salesperson Alfred Odister (he is wonderful) at the Chattanooga dealership. I wanted to know if I was in a front wheel drive vehicle. Alfred walked me to a button beside my steering column marked(ECT SNOW) so I engaged that feature. He told me to be careful and let him know if he could help us. We continued to travel and got to the bottom of Lewis Chapel mountain (8% grade) here we found ourselves stopped and thought that the mountain road must be closed. Then I remembered my Lexus Inform button. I pushed my button and immediately Michael from Lexus was there to assist us. He went above and beyond by contacting the Hwy patrol and learning that there was a stalled vehicle on the road but that the road was open. What a piece of mind that Lexus is always there. Once we began up the mountain, we passed an abandoned BMW, who was unable to make it up the mountain. We laughed at their commercial where they throw the Lexus red, Christmas bow off the BMW and talk about performance? Wonder where all that performance was on this day?
Anyway, we slowly made our way toward home and arrived at 8pm est. yes 5.5 hours to travel 84 miles. Not one time did my IS250C fail me. She (her name is Sassy) never even completely lost traction. Now we did receive many looks where people couldn't believe we were going to attempt the mountains and certain difficult roads but we did and my IS out performed man vehicles that were abandoned on the side of the roads. She performed wonderfully.
IS250C- $47k, lunch before we left for travels $12.76, able to arrive home in snow storm and in style ?.priceless
I just wanted to share my story and hope to encourage you all that you are in the right place and doing the right things.
God bless you.
